What is eLINC?
eLINC is a private health information exchange (HIE) associated with the Winchester Hospital network of care. eLINC was developed to give your health care team the information they need to provide you and your loved ones with safe, high-quality health care. With your consent, the eLINC HIE allows your health information to be stored in one location, to be shared when your care requires it and to be securely emailed via direct messaging with your participating providers.
What is Health Information Exchange (HIE)?
An HIE is almost like a bank, acting as a secure repository for your personal medical records. Your providers can access this information remotely—for instance, from an office laptop or from an emergency room computer, just as you might conduct your banking from home or an ATM. With your consent, an HIE holds and continually adds to your personal medical history. It is an invaluable resource for your health care providers to ensure you get the best care at the very moment you need it.
What does eLINC stand for?
eLINC stands for:
Leveraging health information,
Improving patient care,
Networking providers, and
Communicating with each other
eLINC is managed by Winchester Highland Management, LLC, a joint venture of Winchester Hospital and the physician group Winchester Highland Health Associates
How can the eLINC HIE help me, as a patient?
Among other things, an HIE can inform your medical team about allergies, possible medication interactions and lab and radiology results. You do not have to wait for information to be copied, mailed or faxed. You also won’t have to unnecessarily repeat medical testing or fill out the same health history forms. So with improved coordination of medical records within Winchester and surrounding communities, the eLINC HIE improves patient safety, the quality of patient care and health care efficiency.
eLINC is not a web portal for patients to view their patient records. It is used only by health care providers to view your patient clinical record in the delivery of your health care. You, as a patient, have the right request a copy of your clinical record from the eLINC HIE. Please, review the process for submitting a request for a copy your clinical record in the eLINC HIE.
